What is Reiki?

Everyone has the ability to create and maintain their own wellbeing as well as assist others with theirs.

It is scientifically proven that a universal energy flows through all of us, this flow of energy can however become blocked during times of stress or illness.

In the West we tend to deal with and treat a specific symptom (headache, skin condition etc.,) but the Eastern approach is to look at what may be causing the symptoms.

This is known as a holistic approach, healing mind and body to improve a person’s general wellbeing and outlook on life.

The concept of a life (or energy force) has been recognised in many cultures for thousands of years, and is used in many other complementary therapies such as acupuncture, tai chi and yoga – this website deals with just one - REIKI.

REIKI is an immensely simple yet powerful method of holistic healing, using the hands to remove these blockages and restore the flow of energy around the body.

As a therapeutic practice REIKI differs from any other, unlike many practices REIKI is not directed towards achieving specific ends, the healing directs itself naturally to wherever it is needed most.

The REIKI practitioner acts simply as a channel through which the universal energy flows, always benefiting ones self or others when passed on.

Reiki is not a religion and is used every day by Millions of people from all cultures and different faiths, because of its simplicity and obvious benefits Reiki has been adopted by Western culture and its popularity has soared in recent years.
